	The figures below show the predicted wave patterns of a 17m long, 800kg displacement (HW8+) rowing shell travelling at 3.6, 4.6, 5.6 and 6.6m/sec. For women's coxed eights, speeds will vary between about 4.6m/sec and 6.6 m/sec during the stroke cycle.
	Generally, oarblades near the bow of the boat will be immersed in relatively clean, flat water; those nearer the stern will sometimes be immersed in wave troughs, sometimes in crests.
